I distinctly recall hearing Midnight Magic‘s Beam Me Up back in 2010. I had come gradually into Disco from Minimal Tech, and sort of finding back to my roots.

Midnight Magic‘s sound was full of live instruments, organic vibes and a joyful, grandios sound deriving from a place full of loving magic.

For me Midnight Magic has kept that quality through their work, and translating that into good remixes and maintaining the vibe from that particular place of energy is not for the faint at heart. So who better to call upon than Dimitri From Paris and DJ Rocca, who have some uncanny remixes under their belt, both together as a formidable remixing duo, and separately.

“I Found Love” was recorded in a fever on the heels of releasing “Beam Me Up.” New York dance music wizard Tommie Sunshine approached us about a co-write saying we should go as big as possible. So we did–it is one of our all time favorite vocal performances from our singer, Tiffany Roth. We had big plans, too, for a release but nothing quite felt right until meeting the Razor N Tape crew almost a decade later. Finally the stage is set, the lights are on, and we’re ready. This song is very special to us because it is the last un-released recording of our original lineup. We dedicate its release to our late bandmates Andrew Frawley and Jason Disu. “

The remix(es) do not disappoint!

MoroderI Feel Love‘ bassline emulation, Italo piano and a very sexy blend of live drums and percussions really completes this as a genuinely uplifting experience that both burrows from the original soul of the track and dishes out some proper Big Room feels as well.

There’s a deep love for the genre and some masterfully crafted studio work done for this remix, that just oozes of luxury and sense for detail. Lush, lovely and full of the original 12″ extension feel.

This one will be on the final list for many DJs when they have to condensate 2023 to it’s ten finest.
