Vienna Disco sensation Mannix is consistently putting out hight quality releases on his Dafia imprint.

On this one he joins forces with the Croatian jazz singer Jacques Houdek, lending his vocals to this inspired cover version of The Korgis‘ classic from 1980.

The release features two smooth, slow jazz versions and this Disco revamp.

Mannix puts a dab hand on the Disco switch and conjures up a hands-in-the-air, 80’ies inspired remix, that oozes of high class production.

Everybody’s Gotta Learn Sometime (Mannix Disco Revamp) builds up nice and friendly, and adds a gentle nod to Stevie Wonder‘s Superstition at 1:06 before swooping in with some Simply Red (Something Got Me Started) inspired piano stabs.

Houdek‘s vocals falls in, doing justice to the original vocals, and I’m drawn in completely by the immersive groove cunningly crafted by Mannix.

This will satisfy even the most picky out there, and rings true as an incredibly sly and well-crafted reworking of a timeless classic.
